Social & Cultural Anthropology (IBSCA members)

Open to educators from IBSCA member schools, our Seminar series provides an in-depth look at some of the key topics and challenges facing our IB community.

For this Seminar, join us for an exploration of different facets of the IB Social Cultural Anthropology syllabus. Open to all teachers of IB Social Cultural Anthropology but with an emphasis on Category 2 level skills. Bring your questions and experience to share with fellow delegates.


This Seminar will :

This seminar will aim to offer advice about how to prepare students for revision and writing skills required for Paper 1 and Paper 2, alongside resources such as example contemporary real world issues and exemplar essays.  This discussion will be informed by examiner feedback from M23 and will invite teachers to share experience and good practice suggestions.

Seminar Details:

  • 3-hour seminar delivered virtually making access easy and convenient.

  • Led by an experienced IB educator.

  • Limited to one registration per IBSCA member school. There are a limited number of spaces available, if sufficient interest is expressed a second date may be opened.

  • Offered free as a benefit of IBSCA membership.

Led By:

This seminar is led by experienced IB educator, Amelia Rowan. Amelia studied IB Anthropology herself, before going on to study it at the University of Cambridge.  After graduating from university, she went straight into teaching it at IB level in 2014.  Amelia started the Anthropology course at her most recent school in London, and it went on to become one of the most successful courses there with at least 50% of each class attaining a grade 7.  She is also an IB examiner for Anthropology, and has co-written an Anthropology revision book.
