Visual Arts: challenges of the new guide (IBSCA members)

Open to educators from IBSCA member schools, our free Seminar series provides an in-depth look at some of the key topics and challenges facing our IB community.

The Seminar is open to IBDP Visual Arts educators. The Seminar will focus on the new guide (first exams 2026), specifically relevant changes and challenges. We welcome participation from IB educators with previous experience in delivering the current Visual Arts guide.


Seminar Description:

This Seminar will focus on the changes to the Visual Arts guide and corresponding implications for subject delivery. Further details of the seminar will be available at the start of 2025; however, you can register now to secure your place.

Seminar Details:

  • 3-hour seminar delivered virtually making access easy and convenient.

  • Led by an experienced IB educator who is part of the IBEN network.

  • Limited to one registration per IBSCA member school. There are a limited number of spaces available, if sufficient interest is expressed a second date may be opened or additional spaces added.

  • Offered free as a benefit of IBSCA membership.

Led By:

The Visual Arts Seminar will be led by John Rolfe. John has led dozens of IB workshops (both face-to-face and online), especially about Visual Arts, including category 1, 2 and 3 levels. He has worked in DP schools in Africa and the UK and has also taught In the U.S. John has been involved in the assessment of both DP Visual Arts and IB Art History and can therefore share his expertise and perspective as both Visual Arts teacher and examiner.
