Join us for a session focused on the Higher Level writing component for Language A: Literature including in-depth discussion and sharing of good practice.
Seminar Overview:
The Language A: Literature Higher Level Essay seminar will aim to offer advice about how to prepare students for the level of inquiry and the academic writing skills required by this assessment component as reflected in the criteria. The discussion will address issues such as the range of skills and levels of engagements in students, and offer advice about supporting through the process of formulating a line of inquiry to submitting the final draft.

Led by an experienced IB educator who is part of the IBEN network.
Limited to one registration per IBSCA member school. There are a limited number of spaces available, if sufficient interest is expressed a second date may be opened or additional spaces added.

Led by:
Dr. Anna Androulaki-Woodcock has been teaching English since 1988. She started her career in the IB teaching Diploma Programme English and ToK in 2002 and since then she has also taken on the roles of examiner and workshop leader for the IB. Since 2002, her work has had an exclusive IB focus and her perspective has been shaped by teaching in very different and diverse contexts in Greece, Germany, the UK and China. The administrative positions she has held, viz. those of Diploma Programme Coordinator and Head of English, inform her understanding of contextual and pedagogical implications for the teaching of English for both students and teachers. She is the author of several academic papers in theoretical linguistics (the area of her PhD dissertation) with the most recent writing project being the Oxford University Press English A: Literature IB Prepared following the co-authoring of the Course Companion of the same subject. Between workshops and assignments, she enjoys spending time with her children and her friends, wherever they are.
