Open to educators from IBSCA member schools, our free Seminar series provides an in-depth look at some of the key topics and challenges facing our IB community.
The Seminar is open to IB SEHS teachers aiming to enhance their proficiency in guiding students through the SEHS Internal Assessment.
Seminar Description:
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of each assessment criterion, clarifying expectations and offering strategies to help students meet and exceed them. The session will simplify statistical concepts, providing practical advice on selecting and using statistical tools to enhance the validity and reliability of numerical data. Additionally, the sessions will focus on topic selection, research question formulation, data collection, analysis, and presentation, with emphasis on adherence to IB guidelines. By the end of this seminar, participants will be equipped to develop personalized, structured plans for effectively supporting their students in completing the SEHS IA, enhancing students' abilities to critically evaluate and communicate their research findings.
Led By:
The SEHS Internal Assessment seminar is led by experienced IB Educator and IBEN, Dincer Akis. Dincer is a PE teacher with a strong passion for research. He holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. He serves as an IB workshop leader and examiner for the SEHS course.
