The MYP in Focus (virtual seminars)

IBSCA member schools are invited to join us for an afternoon focusing on delivery and development of the Middle Years Programme. This seminar series has been designed to explore key areas of the MYP while also providing delegates with the opportunity to further their professional development. Access is exclusive to IBSCA member schools and is free of charge.


The MYP in Focus Seminars will be led by Dianne Blackburn, Lead Educator, MYP; Rizwan Khan, MYP IBEN; and Peter Fidczuk, IBSCA University Officer / IBO Development & Recognition Manager.

The Seminar will be held virtually on the 16th of June 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm BST.

Seminar Details:

  • Six 25 minute seminars covering a range of key topics and issues for the MYP

  • Virtual delivery to ensure as many IB educators can participate as possible

  • Flexibility to attend the seminars most relevant to you and your school context

  • Exclusive to IBSCA members, delivered free of charge

  • 1:00 – 1:05: Introduction by Peter Fidczuk and Dianne Blackburn
    1:05 - 1:30: Enhancing the MYP, Nat Erbes MYP Curriculum Manager, IB The Hague
    1:30 – 2:00: Developing the Community Project in a 3 year MYP school, Lucy Hawkins, Wilmington Academy
    2:00 – 2:30: Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Dianne Blackburn, MYP IBEN
    2:30 – 3:00: Approaches to Learning, Rizwan Khan, MYP IBEN
    3:00 – 3:30: Activity theory as a basis for the 2020 Programme Standards and Practices, Dianne Blackburn, MYP IBEN
    3:30 – 4:00: Overview of e-Assessment and recognition, Peter Fidczuk IB Development and Recognition Manager, UK & Ireland, IBSCA University Officer.
